Even when your legs say "no more," Specialized's Tarmac SL4 Pro keeps pouring on the speed. This thoroughbred boasts a FACT-carbon frame and fork that are super light to float up climbs, and exceptionally stiff to handle your blazing accelerations. Aiding in your quest to hit max velocity are lightweight, aero Roval wheels and an electronic Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain with a wide range cassette to get you up lung-testing climbs and down will-testing descents. And, from training sessions to race day, you'll be glad the Tarmac Pro is topped off with Specialized's world-class components like carbon cranks, bars and seatpost. Even your saddle has hollow ti rails to keep the weight down. So when your legs say "no more," do what Jens Voigt does: say "shut up, legs."
This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.
This frame’s head tube is 1 3/8 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.
