Details
With its progressive geometry, impressive construction and high-end features, the Trail offers unreal performance and a killer value. It's designed for short stems and wide handlebars to maximize control in rough terrain, while the slack 68° head angle creates the stable, confident handling you need to rule the descents. Short chainstays give the Trail an agile, nimble feel and provide great traction on steep climbs. With Shimano hydraulic brakes, a reliable 1x drivetrain, and great tires, the Trail 6 is ready to rock.

Comments:
Got this to ride local trails, and I was assured it was up to the task despite its low price. While I love this bike, there were a few components that disappointed. First, the cassette broke in one day, the rim was damaged beyond repair after 7 rides, and the altus derairuler was worthless. After replacing the derailer for Deore and upgrading the cassette I love this bike. I ride it harder than it was designed for but it takes it, (I hate the idea of buying too much bike). I think it was the perfect bike for entering mountain biking, but I can't wait to upgrade, now that I found I love the sport.

Comments:
I purchased this bike in the fall of '12. I purchased the medium size since I am about 5'9" I am recreational weekend rider with occaisonal stops between rides. I will typically ride for 3 to 4 hours Saturday's and most Sunday's. Most of my riding is on asphalt trails or "rail trails" as they call them in my area. The bike rides surprisingly well on all pavement types. The gears shift smoothly and the disc brakes slowed the bike down evenly. The bike rides quiet also. I do some light trail riding, I don't mind getting a little dirty. Nowadays the jumps and dropoffs are easier rather than extreme mainly because I need to get to work Monday mornings in 1 piece. The stock tires can handle loose gravel, dirt and light mud with confidence. I didn't have the urge to slow my speed down when on trails. I have not second guessed this bike yet. I would strongly suggest upgrading to the comfort grips which I did at my purchase. The grips that came stock were not comfortable and was noticeable on my test ride. The other disappointment with this bike was the pedals. While not a dealbreaker, they seemed a lesser quality plastic even compared to the other bikes I test rode. I have a feeling this spring they will be getting replaced. The bike feels a bit heavier then other bikes I test rode but again I am not riding this bike for top speed. While feeling heavier it still doesn't feel like the bike is holding me back at the speeds I want to go. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. For how I ride this bike it gets the job done and then some without investing thousands or buying "too much" of a bike and the price was about my limit. The most important thing for me is a quality build and stability. I can't wait to start riding this spring. For a weekend recreational mountain bike that looks good too I think this Cannondale will not disappoint you.

It is a great bicycle for my needs. it gets me to the library that is up the street from my house, it takes me to the marina that is in the opposite direction, and if I wanted to go on trails, all I had to do was adjust the suspension on the front tire and it's good.

This bike was indicated to me by Neal, at the Orange Cycle store. It is perfect to start using the bike in trails or just for fun. As an out of country visitor, the Orange Cycle staff gave to me all the information I need and made a great job at packaging the bike to face a airplane trip. When I arrived in Brazil, the bike was exactly as it was in the store.
