The PF4130 bottom bracket is Press Fit into 41mm diameter shells that are 86.5mm wide and mate most cranks with a 30mm spindle to that standard. If you have a BB86 frame and want to install a 386EVO crank or Rotor 30mm crank, this is the kit you need. CeramicSpeed bearings are installed in cups. The Standard Bearing has ceramic CeramicSpeed balls and hardened-steel races. The Coated Bearing has the same balls running on hardened-steel races with a 3-micron-thick metallic coating making the races harder and smoother, increasing service life and reducing friction. Enjoying the benefit of a massive, strong, and light 30mm crank spindle in your BB86 frame is possible with this kit. Press in the cups, set up the wave washer, add spacers if necessary, and torque down. CeramicSpeed's bottom bracket is also stiff and light, but its greatest benefits come in the form of drag reduction. Standard Bearings with stock grease typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's about a 75% drag reduction compared to conventional bottom brackets. The bearings also last at least three times longer than other bearings. Performance can be tuned by replacing grease. BSA is another way of stating English threading. The initialization comes from Birmingham Small Arms, which made bicycles. English threading on road bikes mean a 68mm wide, 34mm inside diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit works with 24mm diameter cranks, found on cranks from Shimano, FSA, Rotor, and others. Choose between two bearings for the cups. Standard Bearings have low drag thanks to hardened-steel races and our Ceramic balls. Coated Bearings have those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. 24mm spindles easily fit through the shell and allow for large bearings to be employed in the outside cups. Put more of your energy into forward motion by reducing frictional drag wherever you can. CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. CeramicSpeed balls are 100% smoother and 15% harder than ceramic competition. The PF30 standard is widely used. To make it compatible with Shimano and other 24mm diameter cranks, as well as improve the system, select this bottom bracket. The package comes with two cups and CeramicSpeed Bearings installed. The cups have extended inner sleeves and join with a center section, reducing the likelihood of creaking and increasing the reliability of the system while also eliminating spindle rub on internal cables. The cups mate with 24/22mm crank spindles. There are two bearing options. Both Standard and Coated Bearings feature super smooth CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings have an additional feature: a 3-micron thick metallic layer over the races. This addition makes the races smoother and harder, lowering drag and increasing life. The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings have only 0.3-0.4 watts of frictional drag per set, an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. This is the result of great design, including hardened-steel races and CeramicSpeed Balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. They also last longer.
